    Exciting Design opportunity

"The Stowaway" was performed as part of our performance showcase (so it was not the only show that night) and was VERY well received (they got a standing ovation).
Somewhat inspired by the dual stage directions (and influenced by the fact that this show took hold of my imagination a year ago), we decided to blend the 2 slightly. We used projections in the background of each scene of the location (so a picture of Mars during scenes on mars, etc), and the final scene where they start to communicate was done with recordings of the actors so that we could have all the faces together, appearing 1 by 1 without the others disappearing, and they came out at "take my hand" and joined hands. The final line "together" of Bright, her face (large) replaced theirs and then dissolved into a ball of light that flew at the screen and filled it (lighting the stage) at which point the stage lights went to full (amplifying the affect of that light) revealing them holding hands and looking out (hopeful) and a projection of space was turned on above the audience.
